What do we all need more of this time of year? Energy. This is the busiest time of year for many people. Christmas shopping, decorating, school programs, holiday parties, you get the idea. It is easy to feel like your gas tank is running on empty so we have a few ideas that may help you stay energized this season.
Get outdoors. It's amazing what a little fresh air and sunshine can do for you. Even if it is a little cold out - bundle up and go for it! Take a moment to breathe in the sun's warmth on your face. Let the crisp,cool air invigorate your senses!
Exercise. This one can go hand in hand with getting oudoors. It doesn't have to be an intense workout at a fancy gym, and let's face it - this time of year there is barely enough time in the day to accomplish everything on your to-do list. Just going for a walk can kill two birds with one stone - fresh air and getting that blood flowing - win win!
Stay hydrated. During the winter months the air tends to be drier in many places so it is more important to drink your water. If you don't, you can feel sluggish and no one wants that so drink up! Running a diffuser with your favorite essential oil can also help put a little moisture into the air.
Utilize essential oils. There are many benefits to using oils, and many ways to use them. Our favorite is on a lava stone necklace that will positively affect your energy level while you go about your day to day functions. Try a few drops of a citrus oil or peppermint on your jewelry and push through your activities while breathing in a little happiness.
Get plenty of rest. If you couldn't fall asleep last night because you were running through your long list of things that need to be done and you couldn't shut your brain off don't worry, we've all been there. Try to take an afternoon power nap. Just 15-20 minutes will do wonders for your energy levels and get you through that holiday dinner at the neighbor's house tonight!
Life is hectic. Life during the holidays is hectic times 10. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself along the way. Eat, drink (water) and be merry! And make sure you breathe in the sunshine along the way.
